Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a natural health care that focuses on neuromuscular dysfunction and treatment in order to improve overall health via the nervous system.

Because of its relationship with the nervous system, special attention is given to the spine. Misalignments or subluxations of spinal bones are corrected with manual adjustments in order to reduce stress on the nervous system.

Since the nervous system controls every function in the human body, this also promotes optimal function of all other bodily systems.

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology is a diagnostic system used to evaluate the triad of health – structural, chemical and emotional. When a person experiences poor health, it is due to an imbalance of one or more of these factors.

In order to restore this balance, each aspect must be assessed. With this method, the primary imbalance(s) can be determined and treated directly for optimum results.

In general, the applied kinesiologist uses manual muscle testing to find a “weak” muscle and attempts to determine why it is not functioning properly.

The practitioner then evaluates and utilizes the therapy that best eliminates the muscle “weakness” and strengthens the patient.

Clinical Nutrition

Your body depends on several nutrients to function properly, such as vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, and amino acids.

A deficiency or imbalance of any of these key nutrients may arise from reasons such as:

  • Poor dietary habits
  • Disease processes
  • Genetic factors
  • Physical, chemical, mental, or emotional stress

The body may initially compensate for these deficiencies. However, if left unaddressed, they can contribute to metabolic disorders, low energy production, hormonal issues, etc.

We offer a variety of scientifically guided testing procedures to evaluate your current nutritional profile and ensure you receive the specific nutrients your body needs at that time.

Movement Training

Proper movement has long been a part of the health and fitness world. However, for too long the emphasis has been placed on the proper form of the wrong exercises.

When moving throughout the day, we don’t isolate one muscle to perform a task. Therefore, we should not exercise one muscle alone but rather, perform functional exercises that incorporate several muscles at once.

This form of training prepares you for real-life physical activities, strengthens the entire body, and helps prevent future injuries.

Whether you are a weekend warrior, a triathlete, or just want to play with your children, our movement training can help you.

Functional Medicine

A large portion of what we do at Whole Root Health can be considered functional medicine.

Not only do we offer advanced functional laboratory testing and analysis for our patients, but our core values are also in sync.

The Institute for Functional Medicine states that functional medicine “addresses the underlying causes of disease, using a systems-oriented approach” and assesses “the whole person, not just an isolated set of symptoms”.

They go on to note that “practitioners spend time with their patients, listening to their histories and looking at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease.”

This holistic paradigm echoes the natural, innovative and comprehensive health care that every one of our patients receives.

Dietary Wellness

There are few things as important to our health as what we put into our bodies; our diet. Many of us have tried to make healthy food choices or attempted several diets only to find confusion and frustration.

We are here to offer you the best and most current nutritional counsel available to get your health back on track. We provide individualized dietary recommendations specific to your needs.

We will identify what foods will help to improve your condition as well as what foods you should avoid in order to maximize your results.

Once you begin eating the right foods for you, you will feel the difference.
